Welcome to the 28th Nordic-Baltic Congress of Cardiology 2023 at the magnificent conference and concert hall Harpa in the heart of Reykjavík. This is an excellent opportunity for networking and reinforcement of our Nordic-Baltic society but we also have the pleasure of welcoming guest speakers and participants from other European Countries and the USA to discuss all the different aspects of the future of cardiology.

VENUE - HARPA CONCERT HALL AND CONFERENCE CENTRE

Harpa is one of Reykjavik's greatest and most famous landmarks. It is a cultural and social centre in the heart of the city and features stunning views of the surrounding mountains and the North Atlantic Ocean. Harpa is an enchanting destination for intrigued travellers and its grand-scale award-winning architecture has attracted 7 million guests since its opening, May 4, 2011.

Harpa Reykjavik Concert Hall and Conference Centre offers the best facilities for concerts and conferences in Northern Europe. Harpa has received numerous awards and prizes. Harpa was chosen one of the best concert halls of the new millennium by the prestigious music magazine Gramophone magazine and was chosen as the best performance venue in 2011 by Travel & Leisure magazine. Autumn 2012 Harpa received the prestigious award as the Best MICE Centre in Northern Europe.

The congress venue will be Harpa, Reykjavik’s new and exciting Concert Hall and Conference Centre, the winner of 2013 European Union Prize for Contemporary Architecture. Harpa is well placed by the old harbour in the heart of Reykjavik and close to the congress hotels.

There will be ample opportunities for attendees to arrange further activities and wilderness travel in Iceland in collaboration with the congress planners.

TOURIST INFO

People visiting Iceland, whether as tourists or on business, usually agree that visiting the adventure island is an amazing experience; even if there isn't a volcanic eruption going on! There are many things to see and experience, both within the capital area and in the countryside.

Booking for excursions within and outside Reykjavík will be available on the registration site. There will also be tailor-made conference excursions. Detailed information will be posted later.

FLIGHTS

More than twenty airlines will offer international flights to and from Keflavik International Airport in 2023.

The distance from Keflavík International Airport to Reykjavík is 55 km or 45 minutes drive. The FLY BUS offers shuttle service between hotels in Reykjavík and Keflavík airport in connection with arrivals and departures. Taxi service is also available.
